Server Management: Upgrades
Dear Valued Customer,
With our continuous effort to develop our ACME datacentre to increase reliability, we are relocating the following server to our new datacentre at AIMS on the following date/time:-
Server IP: 202.75.53.32
Date: 29th Dec 2009
Time: 4:30pm
This process is transparent whereby your email settings remain unchanged. In other words, there will be no problem for users that are using domain name to access to our services as the records will be automatically updated from our end.
However, for users that currently uses the IP address to access to our email server or running an Exhange/MDaemon, kindly update the IP accordingly as shown below:-
Current IP:
202.75.53.32
New IP:
124.150.140.32
This process would take approximately one hour of downtime and we hope that you would be enjoying our better network shortly.
To identify your current email server IP, please perform a ping in your desktop / notebook with the guidelines below:-
To ping in Windows (OS)
01. Go to 'Start' --> 'Run' --> then type in 'cmd' (without quotes)
02. At the command prompt, type in 'ping mail.domain.com' (without quotes)
03. Press Enter
To ping in MAC (OS)
01. Double-click on the Hard Drive icon > Applications folder > Utilities folder > Network Utility program
02. Select the Ping tab and enter the hostname, where hostname can be a domain name, a machine name or an IP address. In your case please enter the name 'mail.domain.com' (without quotes)
03. Press Enter
